Turnaround

Have you ever had a near miss or hit?

As I was travelling home tonight, I noticed the clock in the London underground was about to turn to the time 20:20:20. I’m not superstitious but felt, perhaps it was a bit of a sign.

I decided to stop, located my phone in my coat pocket and opened up the phone. Five seconds left, plenty of time. Let me check it’s ok to take a photo. So, I did, ahead of time, but didn’t factor the darkness and the response time of the camera. And this was the result…

My internal voice went “noooo, quickly take another photo…”. And got this:

“Dammit!” Disappointed, I headed towards the exit. Muttering under my breath, “oh well, I’m sure I’m reading too much into this.”

And then I remembered. My iPhone is set to take Live photos. It means, there is a chance that it captured the right time.

Excitedly looking at the first photo I took, and yes, there is was:

So, what can I conclude from this?

What you are after, you may already have. But unless you have the know-how and the tools, you might have missed it. When you invest in the tools and technologies and learn how to work with it more and more optimally, it can serve you.. in ways you can predict and some that seem like magic.

The time 20:20:20 would have come around again next day. So, if you don’t catch it today, there is a tomorrow.

You have something to offer to the world!

This is your life. It’s experience is unique to you. You are unique to the world, because no one can experience what you can.

YOU can help others, by expressing your experience, through your gifts. YOU can inspire others, in living a life they want to live, by you living it in the first place.

In a way, it can be seen as selfish, if you do not share what you know, what you have in overflow, if you are scared about what others may think.

So living it the way you want it, the way you feel is authentic to you, with no ones approval and nothing to prove, how would that feel?

Of course there are consequences to your choices, and that is fine. We have a responsibility to be responsible. But there are choices and by not reviewing them regularly you are doing yourself and others a disservice, because they too will think that they have to hide from the world.

But at the end of the day, it’s YOUR life, it’s YOUR experience. What do you want to be, do, have? Dare to Live To Love Everyday.

Thinking about thinking

We think thinking about thinking is useful. Why?

Because what and how we think shapes our reality. What you think, becomes a thought, becomes an action, becomes a result.

Thinking about our mind is really no different from how we think about our body.

Our body is determined by what we eat and what we do to exercise.

Our mind is determined by what we think and how we think.

If you think about it, what and who shaped your thinking from the beginning?

Your parents, family, circumstances, surroundings?

And if you have always been thinking in the way they have taught us from the childhood…whose thinking is it, theirs or yours?

So the beliefs you have about yourself, others and the world, are they yours or someone else?

To have the experiences and achieve the results you want in life, you have to have an awareness of your thinking. Your mindset.

Being able to understand your beliefs and how they may be holding you back helps understand how you can move forward. The limits we have are the ones we have created based upon our experience. You choose to make them true or not.

You have a mind but you are not your mind. Your thoughts are not you.

Use your mind, your thinking to help you achieve more of what you want in life. Don’t let your mind rule YOU.

The key to creating more joy :)

What is joy? Pleasure, happiness?

Someone’s definition of joy is to have a drunken weekend with their friends, another person is to have a cup of tea on their own. Marketing has done a good job in telling us what we need to buy in our life in order to feel more joyful.

We get so many messages through TV, social media about what joy and happiness is about…it can be confusing to determine whether we have defined it for ourselves or to please other people. And when we don’t have the money to buy the holiday, or find the other person to be with so that we can share those joyful moments, it can become stressful.

Could it be possible, to create joy ourselves? Instead of others to make us happy? Or dependant on events, circumstances or other people’s actions? That it doesn’t have to be crazy, elaborate or expensive?

Perhaps, could we explore that joy is an inside job, and the more that we focus on it, the more we experience it?

What’s your definition of joy?
